Arabic Strip
For all I know, this could be a plea for brotherhood, or a call to jihad. Regardless, I drive by this storefront on Wyandotte St. E.--Windsor's Arabic strip--every night on my way home from work every other month between April and November when the parking's on the west side of my street. Several times, I wanted to stop ande get a picture. It, of course, features one of my favourite photography tropes: reflections in glass. So, the other night, I stopped and snapped off a dozen shots, or so.

Peel Session
I was getting tired of the black and white. I needed to get those frosted maple buds out of my system. This one is my oldest, Nathanael, peeling a clementine on Sunday evening.
Today is Against the Day Day--the official publication date of Against the Day, Thomas Pynchon's first novel in nine years. It is an event. Something I have been looking forward to since word first leaked in July.

Maple Preserves 4
Ilford 200 b&w
Just for the record, these were taken after an ice storm swept through Windsor and Detroit in February, 2002. These were taken the same day I was nearly arrested for burning a kid with his own cigarette after he attacked me when I saved him from pulling a several hundred pound tree limb containing a live power line down on his own head. All-in-all, a productive and memorable day.
