Driving home this evening, I spotted this shaft of light and this church across the river in Detroit. I saw Fugazi, Jawbox and Nation of Ulysses play in this church in 1990. I wrote most of this poem in the parking lot beneath the Ambassador Bridge, just after taking the picture.
